Scientist with at least 5 years’ (post M.Sc) experience in developing and conducting in vitro cell-free and cell-based assays (for NCE), mechanism of action studies, generating stable cell lines etc. Hands-on experience in handling multiple cancer and non-oncogenic cell lines is essential. Experience in molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, RT-PCR, primer designing etc.) is essential while experience in handling and having protein purification and SDS-PAGE technique would be an advantage. Experience in HTS/Flow Cytometry would be an added advantage. Conceptual competency with an understanding of various cellular signalling pathways is desirable, preferably from oncology background.

What are the key responsibilities of the role?

·        Developing, optimizing and running in vitro compound screening assays (biochemical and/or cell based)

·        Undertaking molecular biology experiments such as cloning, primer designing, basic bioinformatics tool, BLAST analysis, PCR, RT-PCR etc.

·        Cell lime maintenance and cryopreservation. Building up high density cultures in shake flask for transient expression and development of stable cell lines etc.

·        Documentation, writing experimental records in ELNs, creating, updating and maintaining SOPs

·        Regular follow up and reconciliation of reagent inventory, fore-planning, ordering and maintaining stocks

·        Taking charge of regular maintenance of laboratory instruments, facilities and processes

·        Will be involved in routine lab maintenance activities
